If you are coming in on I-40 from the east, you will need to be careful as you pass Sycamore View and approach the I-240 junction. Get in the second lane from the left and follow the exit that says I-40 West. Yes, you have to follow an exit to stay on I-40! (If you get in the right lanes, you will wind up on I-240 South. If you miss the exit, you will wind up on Sam Cooper Boulevard. You can turn around at the Perkins exit, as the signs suggest.) This will take you around the north loop of I-40. As you approach downtown, you have to take exit 1E to stay on I-40 West. Then after about 1.5 miles, you take exit 1A onto second street and head left (south). You turn right on Winchester Avenue, then left on north Main Street, and follow this to the Marriott.
